About the Teacher:

Barbara Bernhardt, a native of Poland, is a writer, literary critic and a translator of poetry, prose and drama from English and German into Polish. See her Publications.

During the years 2006-2007 she lived in Warsaw, Poland, working on a script for a TV talk show and working in the Theater Institute, promoting the contemporary young Polish dramaturgy.

While in Washington D.C., Barbara Bernhardt has been an active member of the Polish expatriate community (Polonia) in Washington, organizing numerous events and programs for the Embassy of Poland, the Polish Library of Washington, D.C., American Center for Polish Culture, and the Polish Theater of the Metropolitan Area.

Ms. Bernhardt is an Adjunct Professor for German at American University.
